PROFES 2018 features an additional industry papers track targeting exchange between practitioners and research and sharing common interests in software engineering. This track invites short papers and new talk proposals (see below). Submissions can include but are not restricted to position statements, case studies, or experience reports.
Industry papers present applied research in industry related to all the topics of interest of the conference. We invite submissions of max. 12 pages. Other than full research papers, industry papers are expected to be written and presented in close collaboration with industry documented through practitioners authoring and (preferably) presenting the papers.
Industry papers will undergo a peer review process. Submissions will be evaluated on the basis of practicality to industry, originality, significance of contribution, applicability, quality of presentation, and discussion to related work. All contributions must be original, not published, accepted or submitted for publication elsewhere. Submitted papers must conform to the Springer LNCS author guidelines.
Talk proposals are only open to industry presenters. Each accepted talk will be allowed four pages for an extended abstract in the conference proceedings.
Initial industry talk proposals have to use the following format for submitting talk proposals:
- Length: 2 pages
- Abstract (max. 250 words)
- Talk length 15 or 30 minutes
- Target audience, prerequisites
- What are the three main take-away messages for the audience?
- Why should this talk be accepted to this conference?
- Speaker, affiliation
- Short biography and experience as speaker
